If there was one thing you could change in the world….

15 February 2013

…what would it be?

Here is what I said.

Now it’s your turn.  Tell me, in the comments below, what would be the one thing you would change in the world?

  • Elephant’s Child

I love your choice. Just the same, I think the one thing I would eliminate would be cruelty – physical and emotional. Which certainly has a lot in common with your wish…

I truly believe they go hand in hand. If we valued caring for each other and cooperating as much as we do winning at all costs, then cruelty would be a thing of the past. There is a great book, called “The Chalice and the Blade” which explains how our history has been erroneously written and archaeological findings misinterpreted from a patriarchal perspective and that once upon a time we lived in a very different society and valued very different things.

If there was one thing that I could change it would be – to parent differently with my boys, so that they are more relaxed, happy and kind towards each other :)

That is a hard question for me, D, but I really love your answer and agree. I’ll be giving this one some more thought :)

I would have food distributed in a way that meant nobody anywhere went hungry. The things that would change, were we to remove the chasm between the rich and poor is staggering.

      That would be amazing….

The one thing that I would change in the world is the harm to children. It makes me cry to read that people just choose not to feed their children and dont care for them especially when they are babies and have no other way to help themselves. (There was an article today in WA about one such family.) Things like this make me cry and hug my children tighter – it happens in our very country.

Thanks for linking up with #TUST – loved the vlog!

      Agree.

I LOVED watching this Dorothy! True equality would make me sleep better at night – and I wouldn’t have to worry about my daugther! You are GREAT! I would change the way we look at people – I want my children to look beyond the surface and feel happy with how they look – because sadly that is how we are judged ! Em xx

Thanks, Emily. I’ve been working on my video production J

It would be nice if we all learnt to look inside the person, instead of judging their outsides.

I have to say Dorothy I’ve tried to write SOOOO many posts but disquis hasn’t let me and finally I can!!! Phew xx

what a great blog post!!! The vlog was lovely!!! True equality would be a wonderful thing.. I would change the perception of what teenages think of other teenages in highschool. I dread to think what it will be like for my daughter heading to highschool (not that she is even in kindy yet) due to the terrible bullying I was subjected too in my high school years. To make those teens who think they are better than someone just because they don’t have the ‘cool clothes’ or ‘money’, stop and think that they are a wonderful person because of it. If that makes sense..

Thanks, Yvette. Being a teenager is tough. I was so glad to leave high school behind.

I would change people so that whenever you hurt a person you felt the pain you gave them.

I’d like more tolerance for sure. That would do me.

Love this! Equality would be wonderful. I think I would like to see more tolerance and acceptance around the world. Of individuals, religion, spirituality and way of being. x
